ALABAMA PLAN

DESEGREGATION

A school district in Alabama is using the "No child left behind" law to move black students to schools closer to their neighborhoods. It smacks of desegregation, which has many parents in an uproar. To me, is seems like a way to get parents and others involved in improving those schools. Make repairs, keep drugs and guns out, hire better teachers in those schools. That way black students in black schools will do just as well as white students.
