POLITICS AND JUSTICE

FIRINGS

An aide to Attorney General Gonzales testified that she did consider applicant's, for lower level positions, political beliefs. Monica M Goodling, who became Gonzales' aide, was hired in 2002 while she worked as an opposition researcher. She started as a junior staff member in the press office, to move up to Gonzales' personal assistant with power to hire and fire. Don't you think that the fact she was definitely working for the Republicans made a difference in hiring her? So, why not expect her to hire those who supported the Republicans when it came to hiring Federal Prosecutors? Even the President considers a person's political opinions when nominating people for Federal Benches. Although a person's politics shouldn't matter when it comes to justice, but it does. Lady justice may be blindfolded, but her ears are definitely open.
