VP NOT PART OF THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH

CHENEY

All the history and high school government classes have to change what they teach, Cheney says that the office of Vice President is not part of the Executive Branch of Government. He says that since he is President ProTem of the Senate, that makes his office part of the legislative branch.

The debate as to which branch of Government the office of Vice President falls under started with his refusal to turn over his records to the Information Security Oversight Office, an office that Clinton created and Bush endorsed, as an entity that secures and protects secret documents from the Executive Branch. Its job is to see that secret documents stay secret.

Cheney refuses to turn over documents from his office, saying that his office is nor part of the Excutive Branch. Makes you wonder what secrets he doesn't even want a Govenment Office seeing?
